Feedback

I have always found the GPA events to be extremely informative with high quality speakers covering key topics, great networking opportunities and fantastic value for money too!”

A great day and so good to have so many payroll professionals under one roof! As always the speakers gave a very good overview as to what is going on in the real payroll world

The GPA team were very helpful, professional and welcoming. This really made the day most very enjoyable as well as being informative. The setting for the venue was well-chosen for getting there and the meetings were well-organised and structured. There was something for everyone concerned with the complexities and issues in payroll both in the UK and globally, thank you GPA!

Session One: The new UAE labour law – Insights into the rollout.
The session will start with a look back at how the UAE’s labour law and ways of paying their workforce historically evolved, plus the governing and regulatory bodies that govern the law. Our focus will then turn to highlights of the Labour law clauses that have the biggest impact on business and their implementation.  We will look at 6 articles and consider how it influences payroll.
These articles include the effect of having only limited contract types, flexible working models, the controversy around the non-compete clause, progress on probation regulations, changes on leave (or holidays) and the revamp of end of service benefits, including gratuity.
There will also be an informative discussion on what the law doesn’t say, specifically around Emiratisation and the pending UAE pension scheme.

Session Two: The Challenges of Business As Usual in an Ever-Changing Landscape
Our panel will lend their experience to some of the challenges you may face trying to ensure business as usual when running a company/department in this ever-changing landscape. The unmissable discussions will consider matters including how to influence your team or c-suite: building an agile workforce, paying employees across different geographies and the challenges you may face whilst paying employees. There will also be a vital conversation about worker welfare standards.
